RKS Sessions Presents Core 77: The World’s Most Connected Design Community
Hosted at Cross Campus, the leading collaborative, on-demand work space and business event venue in Los Angeles.
First Things First: An Annotated History of Core77
Launched in the spring of 1995, Core77—as the first online design community on the web—has enjoyed an extraordinary place in the creative ecosystem. Celebrating its twenty year anniversary, Founding Partner Stuart Constantine looks forward to examine the future of design by reflecting back on the business, technological, and media forces that forged the organization at the beginning of design’s most recent “coming of age.” From the democratization of authorship and the birth of online services, to the splintering of digital platforms and the ubiquity of shiny objects; from the rise of crowdsourced innovation and the recognition of excellence, to the surge in design thinking, the realities of online and offline commerce, and the relevance of live events, this intimate talk will reveal some of the trials (and triumphs) of managing a platform serving the global design community for two decades.
